Accessing Your Account Settings
To manage your account, click your profile icon at the bottom of the sidebar and select Settings from the menu. The same menu also provides access to Subscription and Billing pages. The settings page gives you control over your interface preferences, voice settings, and password.
Profile
Your profile section displays the email address associated with your WordByWord.io account. The email is shown for reference and cannot be changed directly in the app.
Resetting your password
If you registered with an email and password (rather than through Google sign-in), you can reset your password from the settings page. Click Reset Password, and a password reset link will be sent to your email address. Follow the link to set a new password. This is the same flow used when you forget your password on the sign-in page.
Interface Language
The interface language controls the language of menus, buttons, and system messages throughout the app. Select your preferred language from the dropdown in the settings. The change takes effect immediately across the entire application. WordByWord.io currently supports English, Russian, and German interfaces.
Appearance
Theme
You can switch between light and dark themes to match your preference or reduce eye strain during evening study sessions. The theme setting is applied immediately.
Voice Settings
WordByWord.io can pronounce words aloud during training sessions and when reviewing terms. You can customize the voice output in settings:
Voice quality
Choose the quality level for text-to-speech pronunciation. Higher quality provides more natural-sounding speech.
Voice gender
Select between male and female voice for pronunciation playback.
Subscription
Your subscription information is managed on a separate Subscription page, accessible from the sidebar menu.
Viewing your plan
The subscription page shows the available plans with their features and pricing. You can toggle between monthly and yearly billing.
Free plan
The free plan includes core features such as creating collections, adding terms, and basic training modes.
Pro plan
The Pro plan unlocks additional features including expanded generation limits and enhanced training capabilities. To upgrade, click the upgrade button on the subscription page — you will be redirected to a secure Stripe checkout to complete your payment.
Managing your subscription
If you are on a paid plan, you can manage billing, update payment methods, or cancel your subscription through the Billing option in the sidebar menu. This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can make changes. After cancellation, your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period. Your collections and vocabulary data are preserved regardless of your plan.
